I currently work in the Web Team at the MetOffice developing thier new look website
I have a first class BA(hons) degree in "Interactive Digital Technology"
I have been developing websites for about 7 years, & have a growing number of satisfied clients.
I am available for freelance work, anything from simply CSS'ing up a design, to creating full blown content management systems, as well as giving advice on how best a website can benefit you.
Mainly, I work with HTML, CSS, PHP (with MySQL for database driven sites) & JavaScript to enhance the user experience. I also have experience with Flash to create banners or adverts.
I am a licensed Pilot, having held a JAA PPL for over 6 years years, after obtaining the license on my 17th birthday (the youngest age you can hold one)
The Met Office - Events
A project undertaken as part of my job at the Met Office
As part of the website refresh, where the entre site is being/was re-designed with a new look, I was the main developer for the entire events section.
It features an interactive map timeline, where the events are loaded from a data feed using JavaScript & plotted on screen.
& I also had input into many of other parts of the website, especially the international pages & weather maps on the forecast & observations areas.

The Art of Light
A lighting design company
Just wanted an update to the old website and a different look, while simplifying the content which was already there.
A static, HTML/CSS website, as it does not need to be updated often, there was no need to create a admin backend.
It has a simple image gallery, allowing visitors to see the examples of the companies work.

Plymouth Flying School
A small Flying School based at Plymouth Airport
Needed an upgrade to the existing website, as well as the addition of many new features, making the website much more interactive for customers.
The original design is driven by a php backend allowing the site to be easily updated via an admin panel, members can also post into areas of the website.
Photos used were taken by a photographer, but I also made a few edits & cropped as needed.

Andrews Web Site
Ok, so this is my own site.. & theres a link to it at the top here too.
It's like a diary of all the training to get my pilots license, containing lots of pics & videos. Assuming I have the time to update it, it's also going to be a log of each time I go flying.
A custom pure CSS design, with an php/mySQl powered guestbook - made user friendly with ajax. It also has a simple admin area allowing me to update the site easily.

MARVAS
This site was created while employed freelance by Coleridge Productions.
It is a learning object, which allows users to draw on and annotate, flash videos.
I was involved in turning the design into reality, coding the comprehensive backend system - which allows full control over the site & full user management, allowing any specific user admin rights to any part of the site, as well as assisting with the equally complex flash element.

Lark Children's Centre
This site was created while employed freelance by Coleridge Productions.
This site was an update to their previous website.
It makes use of a pre-made content management system which allows sections of the website to be updated via an admin panel
I was involved in installing this CMS, turing the design into HTML & CSS to work with the system, as well as arranging the initial content on the website.

PFS repaints
A flight simulator add-on website
The site is a very simple download site, with static content.
It provides texture files which when used with Microsoft Flight Simulator, allows the user to fly an aircraft with a different paint job to the default ones, in this case a representation of aircraft that fly out of plymouth.
There is also a system, which allows visitors to comment on each individual download, as well as keeping track of the number of times each file has been downloaded (non-unique)

1st Crownhill Scout Group
A local scout group, needed a website to help promote the group & attract new members.
The site is a full custom built, content management system, allowing every part of the website to be updated. The admin area also has different access levels, restricting which parts of the site can be edited to specific users
It has been a great success & the group is now having to expand to cope with the rising numbers, they are also receiving a steady income from advertising

RandonAir
A Virtual company based in FS Economy with Microsoft Flight Simulator
The website was an update to a pre-existing website which had been created on ISP webspace using their online site creator.
It uses a custom built content management system, allowing the client to update every part of the website, as well as adding unlimited new pages & sub pages to the site.
